Triangle Addition

This is one of my Maths tasks for Week 6. WALT use our solving skills and knowledge of addition to make the number that is provided into the number that is at the top. Our number was 3.518 and we had to find out what the numbers were added up.  There will be something else to do with maths later on this week for everyone to see.

Maths - Think Board

During our Maths time me and and my two friends have filled out the questions that our Maths Teacher Miss Clark has developed. It teaches us what strategy we use to the that question.
We used Place Value.

As you can see on the left side of this google drawing we have 10 similar question compared to the one in the middle. The question asks...
7/12 of 156 =
I did...
12 x ___ = 156 (13)
7 x 13 = 91
So the answer is 91

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog post. I hoped you learnt something!!!!

Mixing with Fractions

For my maths I am with my home teacher Miss Clark. We have different classes we go to and she is my Home and Maths. Me and Arwen chose to do this "Mixing with Fraction" because there wasn't anything else to do. (Because we had finished everything) I really enjoy my maths but the point is I am not good at it. (Yet!) So what we had to do is chose a number and either... Multiply it, Subtract from it, Divide it or this is the most important one. Fraction it. For example... 1/2 of 260 = 80 Do you get it. I'm sure you do. Here is mine and Arwen masterpiece of maths.

Zeal Zone Cooking - ANZAC Biscuits

Every Friday we have 5 groups of Zeal Zones. Each week we change but we have finish our work from our previous Zeal Zone.
The Zeal Zone Groups are...
1.) Mr Wiseman - Music
2.) Miss Tito/Miss Clark - Art
3.) Mrs Tele'a - Cooking
4.) Mrs Moala - Geography
5.) Miss Peato - Fitness.
All these Zeal Zone groups relate to ANZAC. What they ate? What they did? What kind of music they sang? And what Fitness they did?
This is part of our topic this term and it really helps us especially Geography.

So my group was in cooking and it was really fun. We were chatting a bit loud but we got their in the end. We did make ANZAC Biscuits and this Presentation shows what ingredients you need to make these delicious snacks.

Letter to Gustave Guttenbeill

In Literacy we have been focusing about ANZAC. This is part of our year 7 & 8 topic for this term and we have been working really hard to find out what it really means. In week 3 our focus in Writing has been on the letters that was sent to and from family and friends. Some didn't even receive any. This is my letter I wrote to Gustave Guttenbeil.

Dear Gustave Guttenbeil,

First of all I am honoured to be able to write this letter to... About my thoughts and feeling towards the actions that has been made against you.
I am very very sorry to hear what had happen to you. I wish I could help you in every way, truly. The way that the Germans are treating you is non - acceptable and shall not be tolerated. Even though you were fighting for British, (Which I am very grateful for) that should give them the motive to hold you as a prisoner. You know more of you Tongan side.Your father was born in Tonga and raised in New Zealand and married a Tongan woman which is now your mother. This should give you a higher chance of not becoming a prisoner.

I really want to help you Mr. Guttenbeil. But until  that help comes you just need to sit in there tight and pray for God’s help, and forgiveness. Your blessings will  come!

Yours Sincerely,
Mary Patterman Henry
