History Of Superman

The Time Something of Mine Went Missing

Recently I got a new phone. It wasn’t flash but it was good enough for me. The phone was a android and had everything a phone should have. Not one glitch in this phone at all. I liked my phone, it had games, music, and could take amazing photos, until one day! My phone went missing.

On the day it went missing I had just woken up. The night before we had just come back from my Uncle's funeral. Opening my eyes I just remembered I needed to get in touch with my sister because she was staying at my nan’s. I reached out for my phone. I couldn’t find anything. While I was getting out of bed, I was wondering where it could be.

It was important that I find my phone because if I didn’t get in touch with my sister, she wouldn’t know how to come home. I started looking! Under the bed? No! Between the couch? No! “Aroha, do you know where my phone is?” Aroha was my cousin that was looking after me. She replied without any care, “No.” I knew she wouldn’t take any notice, but to me this was serious.

Half the day passed by. I started thinking. “Could my phone be still at the marae?” I didn’t want to think that it could be, but there was a possibility. Aroha and I took a walk to Glen Innes Town Center. We used the phone box. I called my mum. “Mum have you seen my phone?” “Yes it’s here at the Marae you left it here. I’ve already called your nan and your sister will be dropped off tomorrow.” As soon as I heard those exact words I was relived.
The rest of my day went on fine, and not another worry went through my head. I hope that nothing like that ever happens again!

Adaptation Surroundings

  • Animals adapt to their surroundings by camouflaging
  • There is a difference between a turtle and a tortoise Tortoise can not swim. Turtles can swim.
  • Penguins and Polar Bears have the same surroundings, but they do not live in the same places. Polar bears live in antarctica which is the bottom of the world, closer to New Zealand. Penguins on the other hand live in the arctic, which is at the top of the world
  • Rattlesnakes rattle their tails to threaten the predators off. This means that if the predator is still annoying the rattlesnake, it has no choice but to attack and dig their fangs in.

  • Camels can go 2 weeks without water. Because they have pouches that stores water.

  • Reindeers does not have a purpose for their antlers. The reason being for this, is because their antlers fall off every year then another group of antlers grow back.
  • Tortoise protect themselves from the sun by living underground away from the extremely high conditions.
  • Polar Bears have black skin, although their skin appears to be white, it is actually transparent.
  • Yaks are known to be the most furriest animals that lives in the mountains AKA the Himalayas.
  • Polar bears have 42 teeth
  • Arctic foxes change the color of their fur with the changes in the season. In winter they are white to blend in with the snow, then in the summer the shed their skin and become brown.
  • Tortoise can go 1 year without water

  • Penguins:
Penguins are a group of aquatic, flightless birds, living in the southern Hemisphere especially in antarctica. Most penguins feed on Krill, Fish, squid and other sea life that is caught while in the sea. Penguins spend 50/50 on land and in water.

Going to TVNZ

As most of our students do on the first week of school here at Pt England, we write a recount about our immersion assembly. An immersion assembly is the starting of the term. So the teachers and everyone participates on what the students of that team are doing or the rest of the term. BUT.... I wasn’t here on Monday so we are going to write a recount about one thing I did during the holidays.

On the second week of the holidays I participated in a holiday programme that Miss King had organized for me and Sela. It was marvelous. I met so many kind people and they were quite nice to me. Most of the kids there were older than Sela and I didn't mind.

It was a three day event, filled with adventure and creativity. My favorite day would have to be the second day. Why? Well the holiday programme was held at the Viaduct Center, not so far from TVNZ. Everyone was excited for this day.
From the Viaduct Center, we walked up and down hills, across roads, and ended up at the TVNZ where they make the, Good Morning show and One News. It was incredible.

Johnson that used to be a presenter on What Now was there and introduced himself to us. Johnson was so chill and was calm when it came to our turn to present our own show that we created. At one time I got to be the host and I was so terrified that I was going to muck up the lines! But then Johnson came to me and said, “Smile, Relax and you’ll be fine.” Once he said that I felt much more better. I think I did a pretty good job.

Later during the day I got to do camera and be the director. Directing isn’t that easy. You have to switch cameras at the right time so you can see everyone talking and getting the single shots. I couldn’t remember them all so I wanted to leave... But I didn’t. I stayed on till the job was done.
Cameras on the other hand was excellent. I had a blast on the cameras. We moved around a lot and pulled up and down on the lever that was FUN!

Overall I had a great time and experience. I would like to thank Miss King and her friend for giving me and Sela the opportunity of having a great holiday. Of course that was my first ever time at TVNZ so it was quite an amusing time. I think that'll be my last but I wont forget what a great time I had. Couldn't have done it without you guys!
